The Playhouse West Film Foundation is sponsoring the first ever Playhouse West 72 Hour Short-Film Fest, a two-part filmmaking competition and fundraising event.

Twenty (20) production teams will compete to see who can make the best short film in 72 hours!

SCREENING SCHEDULE

part 1

Friday Afternoon, August 19th

Production teams of filmmakers will be given 72 hours to write, cast, produce, shoot, edit and complete a film. The films must be based on specific criteria, eliminating the possibility of any production team being able to plan the script, story, casting or production decisions in advance.

part 2

The Following Weekend

August 27th and 28th, where all the completed films will receive several public screenings at Playhouse West Studio Two, culminating in awards for the top films by a Jury of Judges on Sunday, August 28th. Tickets will cost $10 each. Advance Tickets must be purchased online via our website for these screenings, and there will be only 70 seats available at each screening.

FESTIVAL AWARD WINNERS

Awards for acting, writing, directing and producing. The top award-winning film for Best Short Film of Festival receives an automatic selection and screening into 16th Annual Playhouse West Film Festival, to be held June 8-10, 2012, at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood.
