Playhouse West 72 Hour Short Film Festival is a two-part filmmaking competition and fundraising event.
Twenty (20) production teams will compete to see who can make the best short film in 72 hours!
Friday Afternoon, August 17th
Production teams of filmmakers will be given 72 hours to write, cast, produce, shoot, edit and complete a film. The films must be based on specific criteria, eliminating the possibility of any production team being able to plan the script, story, casting or production decisions in advance.
Part 2 – The Following Weekend
August 25th and 26th, where all the completed films will receive several public screenings at Playhouse West Studio Two
A Jury of Judges will present Awards to the top films on Sunday, August 26th, following the final screenings. Awards will be given for acting, writing, directing and producing. The top award-winning film for Best Short will receive an automatic selection and screening in next year’s Playhouse West Film Festival!
ENTRY REGISTRATION FEE – $20 (paid in advance, online via PayPal)
• Each Production Team is required to pay fee and register in advance.
Deadline AUGUST 16th
• There will be no refunds – no exceptions – for production teams who (1) withdraw from the Competition prior to August 15th, (2) for teams who decided to not participate for any reason, (3) for teams that fail to show up to receive the instructions for Part 1 on August 17th, (4) for those who fail to complete a short film, or (5) for those disqualified for not adhering to Festival instructions.
